Has a degree in Social Sciences from the PUC-SP and is specialization in Marketing from the Carrick Institute of Education, in Melbourne – Australia. She has worked as a researcher for the CNPq for three years in projects related to immigration in São Paulo, receiving the Honorable Mention Award. She has also worked in the Association Xavante Warã, doing work aimed at developing indigenous and women’s issues. In Australia, she worked for AMES, an organization that develops work on human rights and refugees from around the world, in partnership with Amnesty International and Red Cross. In the private sector, she has worked as a Junior Marketing analyst, in Santiago, Chile and in Melbourne as an International Buyer, participating in various Trade Fairs in China and other Asian countries. Mariela is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
